About this Personal History Service
About Attics Anonymous
I created Attics Anonymous because family history should be easy, fun and meaningful. If you've tried to work on your family history and this has not been the case, please call me!
Stop worrying that those boxes in the attic (or basement, closet, storage, etc.) filled with grandparents' letters and photos are going to rot away. This is an easy problem to fix once you realize there is no reason to do it yourself.
And don't put off the pleasure of passing down the stories of your life and the memory of people you've loved. This is what personal historians do. We help you tell the story and create an 'heirloom book' so others can read it.
I work with individuals to bring out the joy in reflecting on the bond of family. As someone who turns to her (deceased) father's memoirs regularly to fact check or just hear his voice, please believe me: this is a gift your children will cherish more than almost any other possession you could give them.
About Clémence R. Scouten
I first began working on custom family projects in Boston in 2010 when I became involved in the personal affairs of a couple contemplating their legacy. I sat in closets and storage rooms sifting through two busy lifetimes' worth of materials that were quietly sitting there, hidden in boxes. The outcome was the production of organized and impressive books elegantly showcasing information that until then was unapproachable.
I feel very lucky to be able to help people with their personal history. I view it as a real privilege to be trusted to enter a family's most personal space.
